Hey all,

I was trying to file an IFR flight plan this morning, and kept getting an error saying that there was a duplicate key error. There was no acknowledgment that a plan had been filed; instead, I received the error message whenever I clicked 'File'. I did a lot of Googling, and the information was all pretty vague; none of the troubleshooting steps in the Foreflight filing guide or on the web helped. I tried a different destination, tried changing the time, etc...

I ended up filing through Leidos ( I thought for a second I was going to have to call FSS for the first time since 1992), but then I remembered that I had a 1800WxBrief account, which worked fine, just hadn't used it in a long while and had to look up my login and password. The weather in Abbeville was below minimum vectoring altitude for the area, so I had to call Lafayette Departure on my cell to get my clearance. When the controller entered my tail number, all my attempts at filing through ForeFlight were in the queue! DOH!
We managed to sort through and find the Leidos submitted plan, and I got my clearance. I filed with Leidos again for the return trip and was planning to start reinstalling and sorting through Foreflight when I got home.

Here is the neat part. When I looked in my email after we landed, I had a message from Andres in Foreflight's support staff saying that he had seen I was having problems today and that they had been having a technical problem. While the problem was minor, I had no idea what was causing it, and getting this kind of feedback without even opening a ticket is pretty great!

Yes, there were issues today, but I do not believe it was with the FF servers. I read in a FF Group that after having issues with FF someone tried 800WXBRIEF and they had issues too.

I was on the way to park after landing in Nashville and heard a dude talking to ground with the same problem yesterday. He had six flight plans.

I started filing a plan through leidos a week ago when I had a ff problem and discovered that I couldn’t remember codes (slash g or whatever) so I looked for the answers in FF…which started working again.

My hypothesis: I think ff didn’t work because of switching networks on the drive to the airport

Hm, maybe we can have voice-synthesized chatbot agent that can call FSS and file on our behalf. Now where's that AI for GA thread?

You broke Foreflight!
