Did Garmin only ever make one; and they are all the same?
Or, do some have different functionality or formfactor, connections?

I had mine installed in 2015. Other than software, I highly doubt it has changed any. No SBs or ADs are out on it, so why hassle with new certification unless there is a serious problem?

They make it with and without GPS and they make it panel mount or remote, so 4 variants.

And did so since the beginning? (when was that?)

Toying with the idea of scouting salvage yards for one. If we are totaling several airplanes a week, it might happen.

you see them for sale in e-bay once in a while....but they don't go cheap.

hm I wonder if ASOD got it. Looks like it might have survived the impact. And didn't get rained on.

Not sure where it ended up... but I do know the radio stack was pulled for safe keeping within an hour or two of the final flight.

(The plane was owned by the club I was in for a few years. I sold my share about 3 months before the final flight)
