Ground Straps - anyone every added one to mags?)

With a gasket between the mag and engine and paint under clamps, I'm wondering what kind of effect slipping a ground strap under a breaker cover screw would have radio noise wise.

Anybody tried it?

The airplane in question is having stormscope issues, old mags were horrible and brand new mags improved it.

Yeah. In my case, it didn't help. No idea what effect it might have on the Stormscope, however.

Harness, spark plugs and mags make many variables with ignition system.

One of our members could barely use his radio on his homebuilt and new spark plugs made a difference. His wires looked good too.

Have you tried shutting one magneto or the other off while running the stormscope to see if the problems go away?

I've always assumed that the clamps holding the magneto down are enough but now you have me curious.
