My clear Belly strobe is starting to only flashes every 10 seconds and it's not a full fire of the strobe..

I have the old Grimes Model 30-0437-1.

Do you think it's the bulb or the entire self contained unit's power supply?

I would just replace the bulb but wanted to get an opinion before I spend $80.

Also, Does anyone know the bulb model this strobe takes?

Thanks!

Strobe flash tubes turn a little black replace them at that time they tend not to flash as much and are hard on the power supply. That little black area on the flash tube is a path for the high voltage and the power supply has to work a little harder to overcome the leakage of the tube and charge up the cap to the flash level to be triggered. Flash tubes are available on ebay or on Google search, their is also a inductor in line with the trigger white wire you will have to dig out and save on the old flash tube. You could dig out the old tube replace it with the new one seal it with RTV, remember the inductor to the white wire in their for about $10 to $20.

Is this bulb different than your wing strobes, if you have em? If they are the same maybe you could swap bulbs and make sure it’s not the power supply?
