On my bonanza, the radio stack is far enough away to require an annunciator with a 430/530.

If I bought a GPS 175 and a GI275 CDI, and left the old KI206 hooked up to the KX155, would I still need an annunciator panel?

Also, it wasn't clear if the KI275 CDI could function as a backup AI? Or if that was only on the versions that had to be installed by a dealer.

It is this version I am looking at on Spruce.

You have to get the GI-275 that has an AHRS in order for it to work as an ADI. My G5 HSI has all the annunciators built in, so I was able to remove the annun panel. I would imagine the -275 does as well.

I saw a few models on aircraft spruce but not one that said it had that.

Is that a garmin only install?

What I understand is the MFD and CDI versions are being sold OTC for install in certified aircraft. I think the ADI and HSI versions are dealer install only.

If the GI-275 is primary for HSI it cannot be used as a backup ADI - just installed one in HSI mode and been flying with it a couple months. Great unit.
