Any hunters here?

What is the best place for goose hunting that has good access to an airport with commercial services

What kind of geese?

Snow geese - Central Missouri, NE Arkansas. That will typically be a late winter hunt.

Canada geese - I hunted Horicon marsh a lot (just west of Osh) but things seem on the decline the last 5-10 years. Did ok in west central Indiana (home). Mid/late fall hunts.

I may be getting rid of some decoys and ground blinds if interested.

I used to fly with some guys who were planning to go goose hunting while they had a few days in Churchill, Manitoba, but they couldn’t find all the parts to build a potato cannon, so they made a blow gun and went ptarmigan hunting.

Where are you starting from? ND is known for waterfowl hunting, plenty of guides and services.

They used to have those ‘snow goose reduction hunts’ even in the Spring. I know Iowa had them, likely SD too. The reason being the nesting habitat up North was being destroyed by the high numbers.

There should be some form of goose hunting in most states, local intel, web surfing should lock in. Heck, I have a place in da U.P. of MI. I haven’t goose hunted in years.

South Louisiana has great goose hunting. Snow and speckled belly are abundant most years with an occasional lesser Canadian. You can fly in commercial to LFT or private to IYA. I can recommend some great guides. Specks are limited to 3 per person per day but snows are 20 during the MW season but unlimited after the season in March. However, if I were to go on a guided hunt, I would go out of the Lubbock, TX area. You will get to shoot specks and Canadian geese as well as Sandhill Cranes. Specks and Sandies are excellent table fare.

Im an upland bird guy. My dog hates getting wet, despite being able to swim better than my sisters golden retriever who can't stay out of the water

Since we are talking game birds, if it is turkey you want, Gallup is the place to be.

I got 2 last spring, but when I fired the shotgun it scared some folks.

Now they won't let me in Safeway anymore...
Your problem is you went for domesticated turkeys. Wild Turkey is at the liquor store.

Thanks everyone, my brother's getting married so this is his bachelor's. We are 5 so looking for something fancy enough.
We were thinking Texas but looks like LA or AR are the way to go.

Anyone has recommendations for guided luxury hunts?

I don't know of any luxury guides for strictly goose but Hackberry Rod and Gun Club, south of LCH, has excellent duck/goose hunts and first class facilities/dining and may be able to do a pure goose hunt. Better than that, do the Cast and Blast....hunting in the morning and fishing in the afternoon. There is excellent brackish water fishing around the lodge.

For something like that, once in a lifetime, I wouldn’t mess around or take chances. With wild animals and weather there’s no guarantee, but an organized “gentleman’s” hunt (or luxury as you say):

I get their catalog in the mail.

The Katy, TX area used to be famous for goose hunting. Likely all paved over now, with the geese in the Walmart drainage pond.

My first duck hunt was in flooded rice in Katy. Quite an experience. Mid-1990s
