Good news (for a change) about Aviation

What about the new year’s eve crash in Costa Rica that killed 12?
I thought that was a Caravan? (Not a jet. Prop, but turbine, yes. I guess it's gray area.)

Sorry; if it runs on jet A to me it is a jet and it was an airline.

Wasn't an airline, but a tour operator, like Part 135 would be in the States. And it wasn't a jet, it was a Caravan which is a turbo-prop. Does run on Jet A so I guess it fits your definition then. :D

I think having only 79 deaths on commercial aircraft world wide is also an outstanding statistic for the year.

Air travel is less likely to kill you than living in Chicago.

And what exactly did he do that was tough on commercial aviation?
I've no idea. I merely re-posted from the source.

I only fly part 91 for myself. When I do take commercial air, they deal with those regulations (whatever they might be). Maybe some of the commercial pilots could chime in about the changes they've faced.
