Giant City State Park in southern IL

Giant City State Park down by Carbondale (MDH) posted a link on FB soliciting comments on the possibility of re-opening their airstrip. I didn't know they ever had one, but they were fairly common at state parks in the 50s-60s. They have been keeping theirs mowed (as opposed to many others that had trees planted after closure), so it looks like it would be fairly trivial to do it. They have a really nice CCC-built lodge with a restaurant in addition to some nice hiking trails. Don't know how realistic it is, but it can't hurt to give them some encouragement.
