This just started today when I started up for home from rough river. AHRS align Keep wings level message is persistent along with “calibrate ahrs/mag”. I also have messages saying “power fault” and “expansion board: invalid config”. Tried completely powering off/on with no results. I was able to get my AI back by switching to AHRS2 to get home.

Anyone have any good advice/things to try before I call the avionics shop?

Have you looked for those messages in the Supplement or Install Manual? (I’d guess the Power Fault would be the root cause.)

Nothing on the messages that I can find, that would also be my guess. I tried looking at the wires for a bit for anything obvious and checking some of the obvious connectors and no luck.

Cause for the power fault.. GI 275 internal autopilot voltage output is below threshold voltage.
Corrective action.. Ensure GI 275 is not on backup battery power. Clear autopilot configuration settings and reconfigure.

I would recommend taking it to an Avionics shop.

Working on it… just getting someone on the phone is proving to be a challenge.
How far are you from KUMP? Fishers, Indiana 46038?

Give me a call if you'd like.. 317-688-6432

The good news is that everything is working again- I finally got it into a shop and they fixed it.

The bad news is they really didn't know what went wrong. They basically as I understand it reset some things, updated the software, and re-calibrated everything and now it works. I would really like to know the why- when it initially failed I did start up on somewhat uneven ground with a heavy load that made the airplane sit a little more of a nose-high attitude than it normally would. I also did have quite a few metal things(big e-bikes and a portable grill being the biggest) in the plane. I wouldn't have thought either of those things should cause a problem- I've carried this same load before without issue. Still now I'm going to be paranoid. It would suuuuck to have this happen far from home right before a planned flight into IMC. Or worse actually *IN* IMC.
