Pre-takeoff checklist
Buddy has a garmin 430 that the squelch button doesnt have a tactile response, its stuck open. Garmin wants 2k to fix. Anyone else can do this repair?

Talk to one of your local avionics shops. While Garmin has some some "different" components installed most can be fixed by a good shop in my experience.

I am really surprised Garmin didn't just say sorry, we no longer support that unit.
