G5/GI 275 Flight Directors

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has insight into using a GMC 507 with a G5 or GI 275 to control the Flight Director steering bars without installing the servos for the full GFC 500 system.

I would like to upgrade to a full GFC 500 system in the future but I'm upgrading everything else in my panel and the servo install is outside my budget for this year. I think a flight director is an invaluable tool and would like to harness it when hand flying approaches.

Any info would be appreciated.

What does the install manual say? I didn't think that combo (or lack of combo) was permitted in the documentation.

I’ve seen nothing to indicate it’s possible, but I’m with you, I don’t understand why they don’t provide this feature.
