Does anyone have experience in how or if there are software updates available for the G1000 systems in these aircraft?

Some of these Columbia 400SLZ G1000 equipped aircraft look pretty tempting.

I know there are other aircraft out that had the G1000 that are now orphaned...any idea on those as well?

I thought that Cessna was supporting the Columbia aircraft that were produced before they bought the line. Is that wrong?

I have a 2008 Columbia 400 w/ G1000, with WAAS and synthetic vision. You can get WAAS upgrades, SVT upgrades. The only upgrade that I'm aware of that is still pending is the one that will allow an ADS-B upgrade solution using the internal G1000 WAAS receiver (assuming you have the WAAS). Cessna says it will be ready by 2020. That may be the last software upgrade.

They have stated that they don't plan to offer a G1000 NXi upgrade unless they see demand, so several of the owners have called to express interest (depending on price, of course).

There's at least one discussion on this subject on the CAAC forum - www.cessnaadvancedaircraftclub.com.
