New update for the app should be live soon

I've got one coming soon. What I like is that there is no recurring cell phone bill like another makers box. The monthly data, or managing that data, was a big turn off to me. I'm cheap, I know.

So I'll give this one a go and hope it does what is advertised.

Tmobile just changed the pay-as-you-go plan.

It's still $3 per month but they deduct $3 from the account each month , regardless if you use the minutes or not.

For example, in the past if you loaded $10 on your account, it would be active for 90 days and if you never placed a call or text you did not lose any credit during that period. If you used only the phone call option for Outlet 1, on day 1 and day 90 there would still be $10 in the account. Now, each month tmobile takes $3 to be on their pay-as-you go plan.

They just changed the plan and the service. We'll know better next month when they train the reps on the new policy.

Updated android app coming soon to the Google Play store

We have a good batch of SIM cards this week, if you'd like one sent out.

We're almost sold out of the SIM cards again. Let us know if you need a new one before the Winter season starts

We've finished the android app and code... But we created another tool in the process now

Online 'web app'. The new program for controlling the Switchbox we released this month is not locked in for apple or android products anymore. Any device, computer or etc with an internet connection can control the Switchbox for free.

Pretty cool update

Sounds like the smart way to go... Too much Android v. Apple going around. Equal opportunity and opens your customer base up.

LED models are in stock, regular units are sold out at the moment

New update for app. Cleaned up interface for multiple Switchbox users

We redid a lot of the Android version and releasing it on the Google Play store now. Main concept was to sync the app across multiple devices.

Many Samsung/Android phone users fly with an Ipad Mini and vice versa. So now the SwitchBox syncs all settings across multiple devices for Free.

A plane partnership with 4-5x guys and 20x devices (iphones, ipads, androids, etc) now all sync across for free and you can see if anyone has made any changes, etc. Very cool

* Even the phone credits knows if someone is using the box overseas or with different currencies

Trying to understand this but still unclear..... If I load $3 on the account, I'm good for 30 days. Got it. If I load $9 on the account am I still good for 90 days or do I loose all $9 that month? I poked around on the Tmobile site but didn't find an answer.

Web app going live this weekend, will post link for everyone shortly

I have used the Android app and the iPad app. Both worked perfect. When using port 1 android app using the phone call method, I noted that once the phone rings on my end, it was about 10 seconds till I heard the Switchbox click on and the LED illuminate on the power cord.

So far so good. Working good inside a full metal hangar, which is located out in the sticks on the corded antenna.

One thing I would like to have is a longer power cord that goes to the wall socket. The cord is rather thick and does not flex well. give how short it is, I'd like to see at least 24" cord to open up mounting positions, be able to work around the hangar spars/braces, etc. also, a three prong connector with a 90 degree. One for would be good as well. Otherwise, the cord loops out, then back to the box mounted on the wall.

Also, included mounting sheet metal screws would be nice or a heavy double sided sticky tape would be great.

FYI... When you add money tot the Tmobile account, tax is charged, so make sure you add enough to cover the tax or the last month there won't be enough for the basic $3 charge.

And use the phone call to the box option for port one as default. It won't drop your account balance like sending the text will. Cheapest way to go.

You know you can procure all of this user specific installation materials at a hardware store for about $10, right?

Do you have anything constructive to add or were you just looking to up your post count?:sosp:

I'm a customer with suggestions to make it better or at least a more complete delivery of a product.

Tell ya what.....go buy it for me and spend your $10. The cord I want to match the other cords on the box, the tape by 3M and the machine screws in stainless please. I'll pm you my address when it's ready to ship. Just let me know..em, Kay?

No. I'm pointing out the it unreasonable and unnecessary to expect him to include a bunch of adapters, extension cords, mounting supplies, etc. Those things are all different on a per user basis. Nobody is going to include those kinds of things. When you buy a box of Christmas lights, does it come with a 50ft extension cord and a timer pre-set to your timezone's civil twilight? When you buy a computer, does it come with a power strip? When you buy an extension cord, does it come with the outlet you plug it into?

Just because you want a certain length cord with a special end and screws doesn't mean everyone does. I don't want to pay more for a product so it can come with extra parts I don't need. Any product of this kind would be shipped basic, and the user installs it in whatever manner they see fit.

And I have no idea what your home handyman skill set is. Believe me, I've met many people that would need to be told you can buy a screw.

Re-read my pirep brother....your confused at my suggestions.

Hey guys,

Its true.. we dont plan on changing/adding any of these details below.
Our pilots using switchbox install the unit in custom locations and hangars that need different lengths, mounts, etc.

Because of that we simply make the SB have the standard power cables and people use adapters and extension cords, etc to make it work for their environment. Each SB comes with the eyelet style mounting holes left and right of the box, but anything else is a custom job left for each individual to do.

New Android app we launched earlier this month is doing very well, so we decided to match the same flow/design to the Apple apps.

You'll see a SwitchBox update 1.3 coming to your iphone/ipad this week with:
- Improved flow for adding a new SwitchBox
- All SwitchBox properties sync between devices and apps
- Whitelist hides when not in use
- Alert when your sim card balance is low

Sold out yesterday. We'll have some more shortly for new pilot orders.

Check magazines for some new articles coming out about Switchbox, next week
