VASaviation has another one, from Republic in NY. That won't buff out, sounds like no really serious injuries. Not sure what happened, I wonder if they went missed too late and hit the ground.

Damn, I hope he recovers quickly. Any idea what happened?
Don’t know that he had that part of the discussion, but more than likely the pilots will (rightly so) not discuss specifics outside of the official investigation for a while.

But if the gear was down and then collapsed, something really bad must’ve happened...that airplane is a brick ****house.

Yeah, vertebrae injuries sounds like a high g encounter with the ground, will be interesting to see what the reports say.

Be interesting to see what happened.

Approach they were on requires 3/4 vis.

Before they landed tower reported 1/4 mile vis in fog and 200’ vertical vis.

They had to have hit hard to do that kind of damage to a Hawker.

Probably a Part 91 leg, since there were no passengers. Talon is based at KFRG.

Not sure what business the other pilot had quizzing the tower in the middle of a crash response.

We were landing at JFK when this happened. You can hear JetCard 127 be sent around by NY approach here:

https://archive-server.liveatc.net/kjfk/KJFK-NY-App-ROBER-Dec-21-2020-0130Z.mp3

Go around is at 6:25. ATC mentions the accident at 8:23 and asks about an alternate. JetCard pilot kinda sounds like an ass IMO. :p

I don’t see JetCard that way. Controller coulda added just a couple words when cancelling the approach clearance. He had just told him visibility had dropped to 1/4 mile. Then cancelled the clearance. JetCard came back with we can do the approach anyway, probably thinking that was why the controller was cancelling it. Giving the reason, accident on runway, just a couple words, might have saved the time spent on JetCards next transmission. But who knows, maybe someone told him to get that plane outta there before he knew the reason why.
