Forgive me PoA for I have sinned.

Who gives a crap? Ever consider that someone might want to do whatever in their airplane because they want to?

Here's a shock for you - sometimes I go flying, and I don't even GO anywhere. I just go up and goof around for a while and land again. Without any valid reason whatsoever, just because I can.

Yesterday I did that in the morning, and then in the afternoon I did it again! :hairraise::hairraise:

I don't really give a crap, you hear me bitching at him over doing them? I'm just questioning why waste money on doing an overhead? If you want to practice skill, there are much more valuable exercises. All an overhead approach is is a tight pattern with the cross wind turn starting at the numbers, there's nothing to it. I'm just not understanding the attraction to doing them unless you're into formation flying and you're practicing with the team. Outside of that, all I'm asking of those who think they are something to learn and practice solo, is 'why'? What skill set am I learning and practicing? Nothing wrong with doing something for fun, but if I'm gonna spend $2 a minute having fun, it sure as hell won't be doing overhead approaches.

Another way to ask I guess is "Did you get $5 worth of fun out of that overhead?" "Did you get $5 worth of education?"

Great, no worries, why though?

Simply because I felt like it - do I need any other reason? Is that OK with you?

"Dear Mr. Henning:

I would like to politely ask your permission to be allowed to go flying tomorrow. This would mean so very much to me if you would give me your approval to exercise this privilege and spend my hard-earned money in the manner in which I choose.

Sincerely,

Airguy"

Good thing it's his money and his fun, not yours!

Actually I believe it's money his parents are investing in his future, no problems having fun with that either, but it does raise the 'put it to best value' issue.

Either way - it's their money, their value judgement, their choice. Or do you still believe you should be able to tell others what to do with their money? Sorry, Obama has already taken that position...

And that's about as far as we can take THAT without heading for SZ!
