Anybody know why some of the winds on the altitude advisor would be blank? See below. I get this occasionally, and today was another occasion. Seems to happen while in flight using ADS-B, not while on the ground connected to the internet.

I mean, I assume it means it "doesn't know the wind at that altitude", but why not? In the example below, does this mean it has only received "some" of the wind from the ADS-B data stream but not all? Seems unusual that it would have enough data to calculate the wind component at 5,000 and at 11,000 but not 7 or 9.

Not at all certain about this, but I'm guessing it's because the winds over the full course are balanced head/wind to zero.

In that situation, it usually says “wind calm”, like at the 13,000 ft level in the example.

Russ, you might be right on that... but to me "winds calm" means just that... but headwinds/tailwinds balance out to zero means something else. The best approach would be to submit the question to team@foreflight.com

So my curious one about winds is: Get briefing. When get to winds aloft, the text with a switch at the top of the screen says “only altitudes within 4,000 feet.” Switch is on. Altitude sent is 10,500. Page shows altitude from 2,000 to 4,000. Now I have to turn switch off and manually scroll to desired altitude. Something broke recently since never had to do this before last FF update. Yeah, not a big deal but would be nice to fix the bug.

RussR, the ----- means that there wasn't winds aloft data for the entire route. It is possible that the ADS-B broadcast of the winds aloft was not received for a portion of your route.
