Ford F-150 owners...

Whatever truck you get just make sure the first thung you do is take the awful sticker off the rear quartepanel. There is no point in advertising what wheels on your vehicle do the driving and thise things don't age at the same rate as the paint. Stickers are for bumpers not quarter panels.
I did that on my last F 250, feel felt the same way back then. I will probably do the same thing to this one?

I have some great adhesive remover that won't hurt the paint that got 45 year old decals off my plane and my old truck.

Right now I am in the don't touch the paint mode, don't get it wet and afraid to use it yet! lol
Storm is coming with high winds. It's inside our storage unit until tomorrow when the sun comes back out.

Seems kind of silly. I had one side of the bed replaced when my old truck was 7 years old - and had never seen the inside of a garage. Both the new paint and the new sticker matched the old ones on the other side perfectly. I see 14-15 year old F150s still wearing the original "4x4" or "FX4" stickers and they're like new. I mean, if you just hate the look of the sticker, fine, but there's no real reason to remove them.

I only did it to be unique. I also don't leave the dealer license plate frame on the truck and removed any dealer stickers off my tailgate. They are not paying me to advertise for them.

I feel the same way about the dealer advertising. If they want me to advertise for them, they can pay me for it. I was buying a used car once and told them they would have to remove the big chrome dealer badge they'd stuck on the back of the car. They said they "couldn't do that". I said they could remove it or keep the car then and got up to leave. Somehow they figured out how to get it off the car.

I’m surprised they didn’t pull the trim piece from another truck on the lot for your truck, and then fix their truck when the Ford part shows up. Why make you the stuckee?

Today March 6th 2026 I finally took delivery of a 2026 F150.
When I ordered it, Sept 14 2025, it was going to be a 2025.
11-11-2025 the salesman had to reorder a 2026.

Some things changed like the color, the blue I wanted is not available in 2026.
Not sure if the fire caused the delay, or the 6.5' bed or a trim piece missing on the passenger side console!!

They didn't notice it missing until I got there today. He said it could have been the hold up getting it? I called him quite a bit and he called Ford a lot he said, so they have may have just sent it without for now. I am OK with it waiting for the trim to come in.
It was a long winter not having a truck. I did drive a work 4X4 truck for a while this past winter with a snow plow on it.
My wife is glad that I won't be driving her car as much.View attachment 150582View attachment 150583
I would bet that the 6.5' bed configuration on a CrewCab caused some of the delay. Rare as hens teeth. Amazingly enough there are still a lot of new trucks being sold, so volumes don't seem to be making it any easier on production capacity.

They didn't have one that fit. That's what the salesman said at first. After 3 people looking at it they determined they didn't have one.

I have a 97 250 and the sticker looks like ****.

Any ‘97 pickups I see still on the road look like s### in general. Stuff rusts out in Hutus part of the country.

When I had an F-150 (2017 KR FX4), I was solidly a 5.0 guy. Prior to that, I had a 2010 with the 4.xL Triton. It was an okay motor.

The 5.0 with 3.55 e-locker is a good, the 3.73 e-locker is better. Mine got 17city/22 highway.

Get the biggest gas tank you can.

ETA: in all of today’s configs, the 5.0 and the 3.6L EB are the majority of deliveries. If you want max tow package, I’m fairly certain that’s solely a 3.6L EB config.
When I left the dealership I glanced down at the fuel gauge, It said range was 717 miles! Wow, never had a vehicle with that type of range.
I guess I should be glad it has the 3:73 gears? I was wanting lower gears for fuel mileage but maybe the trans makes up for that?

I have only have only driven it 80 miles on it so far. I guess there is no tow/haul buttons like the old trucks to help slow down?

Fuel capacity, FD ratio, gear choice, and driving patterns all contribute to the range calculation. I would guess the FD ratio and capacity establish the baseline range and as the PCM learns your driving habits, it will continually refine. Burn rate also gets factored in, but with all the sensors on the powertrain, after a few hundred or thousand miles, you’ll find it to be pretty accurate.

I can’t remember if you got the tow/haul package, but if you did there should be a selector near the shifter. With the ecoboosts, engine braking is less noticeable, but above 4000 rpm, it also should be auto engaging your brakes and the brake controller if so equipped.

Or ON the shifter, a little button down near the bottom. Mine's a few years old, but there's a button on the side fo the shifter that cycles though the various driving modes. I didn't even know it was there until I'd had the truck for a month or so... bought it used, didn't do a deep dive in the owner's manual.

Our Transit has a button on the dash that pulls up the drive modes menu, can select tow/haul there.

I can't speak to current gen, but in prior generations the 6.5' bed option also got you something like a 36 gallon fuel tank rather than 23 gallon or similar. My Excursion will read 800+ miles in range if I've been driving a lot of hwy miles, but that's on a 44-gallon tank lol.

I found and remembered the salesman showing the knob on the dash. I was playing with it tonight, got to get used to it. It seems clunky, got to turn it one click to wake it up and then another click to get to tow/haul. Not exactly a click on the knob but you know what i mean.
It was easier when it was a button on the end of the gear shift. I use it for braking in hilly Cincinnati even without a load or trailer.

My 2014 F250 held 32-33 gals when it was really low. 400 miles on the display range was wishful thinking. lol

I believe the f150's all come with the larger tanks now

It's an option but yes, most come with them. Mine's 38 gallons and going down to the airport today I ended up with 22.7 mpg so right at 700 miles to empty (with the V8)
