So I’m curious when planning N/S routes on the east or west coast what are your thoughts on turbulence on coastal routes?

I’m looking at options for Sun N Fun and taking the wife who isn’t yet comfortable but I thought a coastal view would be nice for part of the trip. We are in a Bristell

I’ve not done the trip so curious what others typically experience on those flights. Is hugging the coast always asking for more wind and bumps?

Went down last year in a Commander 112. It was overcast and the ride was quite smooth. Coming back (once we got past the horrible weather that stranded us for a day or so) the ride in the clear sun ravished sky was a bit bumpy but very tolerable. Might have found a smoother ride up high but we were down at 4,500 with the AP on ...

Bristell is in what state?
Where are you starting the flight?

Victor 1 will take you down most of the way to Craig. and it will give the left seat a good view.

In general the air is smoother along the coast if there is a sea breeze. The cool air damps convective activity.
