I know most pilots are guys. You guys are pretty content being oblivious to those co workers around you. But I work in an office of women. It's surprising what you can find out just by asking a question. Even say "How are you, really" So maybe I can make this a thread of "What question would you like to ask your co workers" Since on web boards you can't get slapped. Let's keep it NC 17. No, "Will you sleep with me?" questions those are obvious.

Why were you late?
Do you really think that is acceptable to wear to an office?
Why did you miss the meeting?
Can you shave more regularly?

I got a million of them.

"What would it take for you to leave me alone and never come to my cubicle again?"

"What makes you think that poor planning on your part qualifies as an emergency on my part?"

"Would you be offended if I asked you to take your stupid problem down the hall?"

Yeah, BOFH is kind of my life ....

NC 17? Not just R, but NC-17?

I was hoping to keep this to a funny/amusing thread. When it goes R you get profanity and stuff.

Then I think you don't want NC-17 (unless I don't understand NC-17 and neither does wiki).

I think you want PG-13.

This Friday is "Tassle Friday". Are you wearing the red or the gold ones? I don't want to clash...

You've obviously mistaken me for someone who gives a damn.

Is that a new cologne you're wearing or did you step in something?

Are you trying to ward off vampires or did you roll in the cafeteria scampi?

Did you bathe in that cologne or drink it?

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. You're neither.

If the question is, as a guy, do I require/desire deeper personal knowlege of my coworkers lives, then the answer would be no.

I'm usually not bashful about speaking my mind with my co-workers, but there is a line I usually won't cross.
So maybe "Were you born stupid, or were you dropped on your head as an infant?"

:mad2:

Do you ever plan anything, even in your personal life? Or is everything you do in reaction to some perceived crisis?

If a guy were to say "How are you, really?", it implies two things.

1. There must be something going on that you don't want to discuss, but I'd like you to discuss it with me. And

2. That I really care what the answer would be.

As a man who is speaking for most men that still retain their "man card" (i.e. they remain testicularly intact), the reality is that we really, really don't care. So #1 and #2 fail for guys, because it falls on my "I don't give a feces" list.

Not that we are uncaring. I'm married and have a 25 year old daughter in my life, and have had to do a lot of caring. But when you are talking about co-workers, or friends for that matter, typically I can do little to nothing to solve the problem at hand, and if I tried to help, more often than not, I would say or do the wrong thing, and make it worse. So, I assume that they will work it out themselves.

In 29 years of marriage, if I learned nothing more, it's that you have to pick your battles, and there are very, very few hills that I'm willing to die on. I certainly don't need to pick up or worry about the problems of friends or co-workers.

Should I make your request a priority over the priorities I have from my 5 other supervisors?

"....About those TPS reports..."

Are those real?

(She did in fact have a set of genuine Waterford goblets by the way.)

I'm the boss so I always get answers I want when I ask myself. Some times out loud.

I really like my job. I don't have to deal with all the touchy feely stick their nose in your life and backstabbing nonsense at most places.
We wear earplugs all day long from the time we get there until we leave. Plugs out conversations are about what needs to be done. When we have to use headsets, the only conversations are work related stuff only to get the job done.
Life is so much easier and enjoyable this way.

Yeah, pretty much. I don't want a bunch of people sticking their judgmental noses in my personal life and I try to extend everyone else the same courtesy.

I would love to ask my managers a few questions though... like
"Do you know how often you contradict each other and yourselves?"

"Do you realize how much more work I could have gotten done this week if I didn't have to go through you?"

or.. the one I'd be really afraid to ask a boss..

"Do you realize how often you leave me for days or weeks at a time stuck at work with nothing to actually do? How can the company afford that? How can you not be aware of that?"

I work in an office full of women too, and the question I would like to ask is "why do you all feel you have to talk all the time?"

What a blatantly sexist statement. You obviously are oblivious to the critical nature of clear and concise communication and interpersonal empathy in any profession where ignorance of your co-worker's state of mind or preparedness can resolve itself into someone getting hurt or killed. :nono:

I've moved past the desire to ask the question and just consider the behavior something akin to typical herd or pack animals...

I'm a female among a bunch of men and they'll probably tell you that I'm the most oblivious to personal matters. :D

I work in an environment of mostly men very few females. The biggest challenge?

Our office has two, single seater bathrooms. One men's, and the other women's. one is highly over utilized, the other highly under utilized. So, during an occasional crisis, the question is, "is it okay if I use yours?"

Are you lactating or is that just drool?
