FFA To Ban Plane Crashes

The five year old article got it all wrong...NTSB simply submitted a safety recommendation to the FAA to prohibit all plane crashes but the FAA ignored the recommendation.

There is currently a 20 year study commissioned of the safety recommendation, which will be followed by an extension, and then an advisory opinion in 2045.

I called my attorney about this.
He said technically they only stated mountains and oceans.
That leaves deserts, grasslands, wetlands, swamplands, bogs, marshes, bayous, islands, rivers, highly populated areas, and my ex wifes house.
So if you have an engine out please aim for one of those (last one first).
We don't want anyone getting into trouble.

I support this rule. It will be a huge advance in aviation safety. Almost as meaningful as the ADS-B mandate.

For those who are concerned with to much litigation arising from this common sense rule, keep in mind:
(b) In an in-flight emergency requiring immediate action, the pilot in command may deviate from any rule of this part to the extent required to meet that emergency.

Therefore, if you declare, you may choose to crash without fear of legal action.

Well, the FFA needs to be concerned just in case pigs do start flying.
