FAA prohibits recalled MacBook Pros from flights

...and they enforce that how?
They ask if you have one.
Reminds me of the comedy skit:

AGENT: Has anybody put anything in your suitcase without your knowledge.
PASS: If they did it without my knowldge, how would I know?
AGENT: That's why we ask.

Very few of these affected units out there. I've got a MBP of the right vintage but the serial # check says it's not affected.

You already can't check a laptop with lithium batteries. I had to pull the MBP out of my bag when I valet checked it last month. The baggage checkers are already asking about ecigs and laptops etc... when you check things.

...and they enforce that how?

I doubt if anyone will be checking people’s laptops before they board but a notice seems to have gone out. So if you take one onboard and it does cause issues, then you will likely be held accountable, more so than if there hadn’t been a warning.
