F/A Lights Up Lav, Then Puts It Out:Arrested

You know, whenever the pre-flight speech gets to 'Smoking is not allowed on any delta flight, and federal law prohibits tampering with, disabling, or destroying a restroom smoke detector.'

I usually ask the nearest flight attendant, "Is there any part of the aircraft that I can tamper with, disable, or destroy under federal law?"

(It's all in the delivery... It usually has them laughing...)

That's a VERY strange case. No apparent motive, except MAYBE to take the credit for discovering and putting it out. I'm surprised the judge didn't order a psych workup (assuming he didn't, maybe the reporter just neglected to mention it).

He works for American.....probably no need for a psych eval....I think it is automatically assumed that they are clinically depressed.

F'Ron, I was thinking of the same fellow as I read the story.

Are FA's required to have an FAA Medical like Pilots and ATC?

Bored at work? Hoping to divert somewhere he wanted to go?

Must of been tough for him to explain ,how the paper towels self ignited. Low self esteem, hope he gets the help he needs.
