F-18 follows Tomahawk Missile

But it was cool to see....

Especially at 2:31, where some pigeons were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Imagine driving down the road and seeing that; albeit slightly higher. Both FL and CA have Tomahawk missile corridors (IR MTR) over land. Florida has one that goes from the Atlantic, spills into the Gulf, then goes into Elgin R-areas. Used to be popular in the 90s but they’ve cut way back these days. Maybe once a year.

What was the purpose of the evolution? Seems like a lot of money just to punch a hole in a shipping container.

Maybe a test of new software, warhead, etc. Old ship with just some containers. Just like air to air training shooting down QF-16s. Certain amount of live ordnance needs to be used for training / testing.

I think all the over land Tomahawks they pop a chute so to be reused later. No doubt expensive though.

Edit: looks like the test was an updated Tomahawk that takes course changes enroute from the F-18 to hit a moving target.

Looked like a success to me, if it had a warhead it would have gone boom and that ship would be gone.
