F-16 performs low pass over vehicle as a show of force.

Not too manly to admit I'd shi* my britches if I were in that car. I'd also have several seconds of wondering if I'm still alive.

Oddly enough I was in the bathroom today when the squall line came through. Lights went dark and a second later a massive crackle of thunder. Luckily the britches were already down to my knees.

So any context to this? What country? What was the "show of force" for?

Scene from a movie???

Last one I did was middle of the night near Lashkar Gah, in southern Afghanistan. Supersonic at 500 feet, lights out, on NVGs. This dude is lower, but it's daytime for him, and we don't have TFR or navigation FLIR to augment SA to the ground at night. Wingman flying high cover in case anyone was dumb enough to shoot at me. Don't know what became of them. But it was probably better for them than a JDAM or laser Maverick or 20mm strafe, which we also dealt out.

If it broke the TIC, it broke the TIC. When it didn’t, it just prolonged the TIC.

I remember an engagement during my last deployment when there was kinder and gentler ROE in effect where the remarks I passed in the 9-line were something to the effect of “we’ve shown them all the force they need to see to disengage”.

That's odd... the plane passes right to left in the video, but the wake cloud (for lack of a better term) seems to pass from left to right. I'd expect it to follow at some distance behind the plane...

Just guessing, but the cloud of dust is probably kicked up not just from the wake but also from the jet exhaust, so as he pulls up the exhaust is directed more downward, hence the cloud gets bigger.

I think it's kicked up by the shockwave off the supersonic jet. If he is still descending when he makes that pass, the shockwave would reach the closer ground sooner than when he was still a little higher. He is supersonic, but the shockwave isn't.

I think.

There are some stretches of road on the 14 and the 395 in the SOCAL desert where you get a lot of low passes by fighter jets.

Had a low pass from some Nat. Gurard guys many many years ago when I was sitting in the middl of a big lake in a sailboat and very little wind. Knew they were doing a strafing run and REALLY wanted them to come around again when I had my camea out! Would have been a great shot!

But at least I got a little push from the "breeze" they created. :D

395 was my fave road when I lived in NV and often drove home to OR. Also great southbound to CA. I will say if you really want to feel the heat, and maybe even watch live HE bombs explode, I'd recommend HWY 50 between Fallon and Middlegate. I flew very low over that road many a time, and legend has it that in the 80's a tomcat was supersonic at like 11 feet crossing a ridge on the highway and fully exploded a winnebago (due to overpressure) traversing that road. I think the navy paid for it :) I just did it in the F-16 a lot, which has a lot less mass to blast at those speeds (and it isn't really a mach 2 airplane due to the intake)

I’ve ridden 50 across Nevada a few times, and always been disappointed in that there were no jets.

It was on 50 between Cold Springs and Middlegate that I got blown off the road by a microburst. I managed to keep control and got stopped right as I went into the gravel. The Goldwing’s left floorboard was scraping pavement while moving straight ahead and the wind was pushing me to the right. Once it was over, I was actually stoked to have gotten thst firsthand wx lesson.

I was driving across hwy 50 (in NV) 40+ years ago when we had a Navy jet come screaming across the road. Type unknown (at least 40+ years later), but he was low and loud.
