    Hey folks,

Episode 61 of The Pilot's Flight PodLog has been posted!

On this episode, we start by getting a not-so short update of the progress of the Flight For the Human Spirit. Michael and Michele Combs join us in to tell the story of the trip from from Wilmington, Virginia to California. We discuss the visit to the Keys, then home to Texas, followed by some adventures on the way to Oshkosh.

After we wrap up with Michael and Michele, we bring Rob and Brad, the two chief pilot's from Virgin America Airlines, into the hangar to talk flying the heavy iron. We discuss how Virgin has differentiated themselves from other airlines, how Rob and Brad got started with flying, and what their plans are for the future.

We also subject both Rob and Brad to a round of Dream Hangar, followed by two questions for ATC: The Aviation Trivia Challenge.

Listened to it last night, and enjoyed it! Hadn't heard the "M&Ms" nickname for Mike Melville before. I guess Brian Binnie's nickname should be "BBs"! :)

Well he was right on target, wasn't he?

Yeah I tried to stop myself, but I couldn't.

Thanks, PJ. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Side note, has the next raffle plane been announced? If so, would you mind dropping me another audio snippet like you did for the last one? I'd like to get it into the rotation early this year. Oh, and a logo or graphic of some sort would rock, too!

    Thanks!

Yes, it has! It's another classic cessna - this time a 1957 Cessna 172. You can use the same snippet as last year. We plan to stick with vintage cessnas, so I kept that clip vague enough to be usable. For artwork, just go to http://www.1940airterminal.org and click on the picture of the plane. You can use any pictures there.

    Thanks for your help!

Great episode. Totally agree on VA being a great airlines. But aside from the cool planes and gadgets on board, the biggest thing I notice when I fly with them is this -- all the employees appear to want to be there (and that's a BIG differentiator!).

BTW, David is that you on the Piper commericals they play on the Daily Aero-News podcasts? Sounds a lot like you.

    Sam
(as heard on an early episode :) )

    Sam,

Thanks for the comments on the show! As for this:

... I don't think so, but now I am interested in finding out who it is. I'll have to give it a listen.
