EFBs - New Advice From Our Friends At the FAA

It doesn't matter what the FAA puts into writing somebody is going to start the "sounds like" "seems like" "looks like" analysis and generally overthink the whole thing. How about just take "guidance" for what it is? No need to villainize the FAA over interpretations.

The FAA seems to go in circles through several ACs, using conflicting terms and contradictory statements.
Reminds me of the AC on pattern operations at non-towered airports.

Remember when the FAA changed the wording of the time when you need an IPC in order to “clarify it”? Weeks of handwringing about the loss of the grace period. It ultimately required a Chief Counsel letter to convince some people nothing had changed.

The best part was years later when the FAA changed a different part of 61.57, not changing a single word of the IPC time requirements, and it started over again.
