DVDs to iPad

I have a DVD or two that I'd like to make available to my iPad2.

Do I use iTunes to "rip" the data like I would an audio CD? Or is there a different and better method?

Check out handbrake( http://handbrake.fr )
It should do what you need.

Another +1 for Handbrake. That is by far the best DVD/BR to iPad video.

The issue with Handbrake is that it doesn't do anything for DVD encryption. If you have a windows instance somewhere, I recommend Slysoft. It will move any DVD to any medium, period, end of discussion, in one step.
