Meth is mostly a domestic product still, probably south bound in trade. It was only time before dope started getting transported by drone. Amazon may worry about the FAA, but the guys at Pot in the Box don't care.:lol:
 
Drones make a lot of sense for smuggling. Especially if they are guided internally. Goods will make it to their destination, but if they don't, there's nobody carrying them to get arrested.
 
Fixed wing would be much more effective though.... Lift more and carry it further.
 
Maybe so. OTOH, wouldn't the smuggler need to land the drone gently, so that the dope isn't scattered all over the desert floor? I'd guess that rotary wing would provide the gentler landing.

No--given the value of the drugs, the drone is disposable.

Landing gently isn't about the drone, it's about not busting the bundles of coke, but it's not an issue, coke gets kicked out of planes to the ground at 1.3 Vso all the time.
 
GPS to the destination.
Slow down.
Kill engine.
Deploy chute.
Cut the straps holding the hard sided cargo pod in place & carry it away.

Isn't returning cash south of the border a problem also?
Refuel.
Load with cash.
Launch.
 
If they are having a "problem" returning cash south, they are idiots. While they _may_ spot check southbound vehicles, nobody checks outbound GA. Not that I want them to start, mind you.

The real problem with moving money south is, "What do I do with it?" Money has no real value, once you have bought everything you want in Mexico or Columbia, what do you do with it?:dunno: You only need so much cash on hand to take over a third world country, you always need more guns.

The answer here explains one of the reasons the War on Drugs continuing 30 year failure. What happens is it goes to Wall Street and gets laundered, most of it through real estate projects. The entire So Florida skyline built since the 60s was built on cocaine money. Before WoD it was mostly direct, but after WoD is when the banks got their hold on the money inserting themselves as middleman for a cut. In exchange, the financial industry instructs the POTUS to funnel them guns, as they continuously get caught doing.Party is irrelevant, the financial industry owns both parties and all of commercial product industry as well as all the resources.
