I don't know what the side walls are made of on my Piper Arrow but double sided tape will not stick to it. I have tried many different kinds of double sided tape(and one sided tape) but none have worked so far. I am simply trying to attach a pen/flash holder pocket. I might have to resort to taking the panel off and using screws.

Let me know if you found one that worked. Thanx.

Must be all that Fuente smoke residue on the inside of that plane.

If there is a layer of protective stuff like armor all or anything else with silicone or mineral oil or wax on it, tape won't stick. Rubbing alcohol, weak detergent solution, etc., to try to remove and try again. I wouldn't use any strong solvents.

Try cleaning with hydrogen peroxide. I'd check an inconspicuous place first to be sure no damage, but I've used HP for lots of cleaning efforts with great success, and no damage to the underlying material.

Ceramic interference?

Our dog once ate a grape and we gave him peroxide to make him puke it out.

Stick to drinking sterno...

A foster dog we had for a month snatched the Thanksgiving turkey carcass out of the trash. Finally got most of it away from him. Worried about the bones, we gave him a little hydrogen peroxide. Puked it up pretty quickly. He was a foster-fail and we’ve had him for almost 5 years.

Yeah, thread drift, but was dog related, so, lol.

Is HP an approved cleaner? Your MM/POH should list some. Depending on what exactly is on the surface (oil/grease/wax/adhesive etc) you need a solvent that will clean and not mess up the other bits.

Hot water and soap is slow, but safe. IPA would be next. Random chemicals? Not so much.
