Plug and core work fine if you've ever worked with castings. Otherwise, people think of apple cores and drain plugs.

They do but the Hole inspector nibbles off the flange at final inspection. There's an AD on it. You can look it up.

I'm showing my age. I just qualified for Medicare, and the first thing I think of when reading doughnut holes is the gap in drug coverage after a certain amount and before a higher amount.
