About 57 years ago my father let me sit in the right seat and began my journey in a BE18. (The oil under the wings made it fly faster he said.)

The last couple of years have been occupied with shock, denial, anger, bargaining, and depression in between my trips to medical offices.

Nothing lasts forever. I'm disappointed, but that disappointment fades in comparison to my thoughts and memories about what a wonderful life this vocation has given me.

People I have met. Places I have lived. Planes I have flown.

Be it a hobby or a vocation, savor it, don't take it for granted.

As someone who has been permanently medically grounded, I echo your sentiment. I’d also add the Dr Seuss quote, “don’t cry because its over. smile because it happened.” I only got about 5 years out of it before it ended, but those 5 years I wouldn’t trade for anything else.
