The hurricane is around 700 miles away but we are getting inundated with rain on Florida's east coast.

Haven’t been able to play golf since Monday.

Nope, up in Columbus MS now! But was thinking about going fishing this weekend in Gulf Shores… or not.

I have a small pump running to drain water from my pool. Normally, it lowers the level about 2 inches per hour. For the past two and a half hours, the level has risen another inch or so. It is now an infinity pool.

Life as we know it is ending.

Why drain water from your pool? That may be all the bath water you have for the next 2 weeks!

I think there's a full size one available around the Mount Ararat region. Just bring an excavator.

So it doesn't end up in the house.
Thanks, that is a big part of it. But we also have a lot of plants around the pool that don't like the salt water and other chemicals. When I drain it, I divert it to a storm drain instead of my house, porch and garden.

This one’s fairly simple…you might be able to get it done in time.

Google says that a 5' length of capped 4" schedule 40 pvc pipe has a little over 20lbs flotation. So, you need a bunch of pipes, some of that solvent stuff and primer, and a bunch of ratchet straps. Post on youtube/insta/etc and see how many states have a run on pvc pipe.

If you post video with a dog on top of the raft, you might get a fruit basket from one of the manufacturers.

Tomorrow is 8 years to the day since Michael made landfall. This one has been forecast to make landfall just west of Pensacola as a Cat 2 for the past couple days.

Now it's a Cat 3 and tracking to just east of Pensacola. This time we're on the bad side of the storm. Everyone around us has pulled the their boats out. We've done our prep. Cars are full of gas, got 20 gallons of fuel for the generator. Winds shouldn't be too bad here but the surge could be... interesting.
