Filing Flight Plan
If you were to take some disqualifying meds and not fly during that time, do you need to report those meds in your physical?
It depends on the meds.
Nyquil - no.
Prozac - yes.
More important, you'll need to talk about the condition that prompted the medication. Some conditions may require additional followup work. If all you had was a cold and you took Sudafed, then no problem, everyone has colds. If you had major depression and needed drugs then you need additional testing because the FAA wants to know that the problem is gone.
Additionally, each drug will have time periods that you need to be off it.
Talk to your AME in a consult. If your AME won't do it, hire a new one. Someone will mention Dr Chien as the expert in cases, but you don't need to go to that level unless you know that you're dealing with heavy stuff.
Can you elaborate?
Someone will mention Dr Chien as the expert in cases,
You can call AOPA, they have Docs to answer questions.
Not quite true. They have well informed folks working the call center.
I don't recall seeing any questions on the form about past use of medications, but it does ask about medical conditions that you have had any time in your life, and it asks about visits to medical professionals in the past few years, so presumably those would be appropriate places to report them.
