2½ miles from my house is The Osprey. The table in the corner window is my favorite space, if available. Yesterday was another lucky day, the space offering a panorama view of the marina. I heard the sound of, perhaps, a group of open-pipe Harleys cranking up. Noisy! It wasn't. Photo 2 shows a boat slowly having come out of its slip. #s 3 and 4 - moving out of the area. Other photos will follow this post.

Photo #2: And it was a fact.

Must be really tough getting good service at that table in the first picture. And watch that first step!
.
Usually when in Maine, we stopped at the Muddy Rudder in Yarmouth Me, right off the highway. Never had a bad meal there.
.
Where's the Osprey? And what's the menu there? I need an excuse to go flying.

When I get off the iPad I'll follow-up to you from the PC. When you land at Wiscasset I'll pick up you and yours. It's 12.5 sm from my house.

Beautiful pics. What camera do you use?
If (when) I make it up to Maine again, I hope I can get the same offer you gave John.

In that #2 photo in my Post #2, note the head of an osprey peeking out over the nest. It's an annual occurrence. A crop from that image is below.

Camera is SONY A900 Full Frame DSLR; primary lens is Carl Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8.
"Same offer" is open to all pilots. The guest room is most always available, too.
(You have to like cats.)

John: Here's the follow-up I promised. If you're driving, cross the bridge at Bath Iron Works, take the exit at Dairy Queen. Bottom of hill: turn left and drive about five miles and turn left on Robinhood Road. The Marine Center and The Osprey are a couple miles at the end(Riggs Cove).

Menu probably in their site. Always very good; baked haddock the other day was outstanding.
Here are a few of my other photos:
#1: in front of the building. Note the osprey at top of the day marker.
#2: Not many natives own those boats; most likely, from NH, MA, NY, CT, RI, NJ -- probably have been coming here for years.
#3: Have to love those H R Hinckley yachts; she's out of Boston.
(Image should be upright when when you click on it)
#4: The left island is Hen; the right island is Malden(both privately owned by
current generations of the families who settled them 100+ years ago).
The area is known as Five Islands. The island to the extreme right is
Little Crow. Five Island Lobster is the red building on the dock. At the
top of the image you'll see an anchorage. THAT's Robinhood Marine
Center and The Osprey Restaurant location.
