Diamond DA40 and DA20 question

To the Diamond Flyers:

Where are the fuel vents on the Diamond DA40-180 and the DA20-C1? My checklist wants me to check them and I don't know where to look.

Mmm... at first I read fuel drains. I know where those are. I’m in the middle of a DA-40 checkout, I need to find those vents. Do not remember it in the checklist.

The DA20 C1 vent is on the belly...

The DA20 C1 vent is on the belly...

THe DA40 vent is about 2/3 out on the underside of the wing, located in a round access panel.

The new ones have a mesh screen to protect the vent, the old ones did not have that and critters could block the vents.

Here is what it looks like on the DA40. I never noticed until this thread, but the location is different on each wing. On the pilot side it is just ahead of the flap hinge. On the copilot side it is further outboard.

Stick your head under there and look straight up. If you don't get 100LL in your eyeball then you're good to go.
