FedEx would label it, "Delivered.'" My momentary definition was "Tailgate Art." It's 16" x 48" canvas, stretched onto a 1½" stock, wood frame. The client will, hopefully, be pleased with the new addition to the wall space that was carefully plotted. Yes, most Maine folks will know its location, though viewed from 1200 feet up.

sorry man, you've GOTTA learn how to resize your photo's. this one is 18meg, last one was 24 I think. they'll upload faster and open up quicker for us.

sorry, pet peeve of mine. and no, I didn't put it in the pet peeve thread, but I prolly should.

I'm sensitive to(understanding of) your comment. Most of my works are large files, often destined to publications which demand LARGE files and/or may result in big enlargements for members of client associations for whom I shoot. Often, I produce multiple images from a single original, and in doing so the "crops" of course lose resolution. However, the process does require starting with the original being commonly in the 24 to 36MB size. "My" system uploads them quite quickly; I find opening same to be faster by right-clicking and opening in another window rather than simply left-clicking. Incidentally, I produce primarily for destination clients rather than Internet mass coverage.

"sorry man, you've gotta learn to" not put an apostrophe where it doesn't belong, to upper case the beginning of a sentence, and to properly punctuate. Same will be "quicker for us" to read. And thanks for your comment.

The man's point was valid though. That photo won't even load on my slow connection. A 2000 pixel photo would be quite sufficient to wow us.

Loaded just fine on my iPad over my at home wifi.

And that looks like the harbor at Bailey Island!

Note that I didn't infer his point wasn't valid; that I'm generally producing for the few, and quality required, rather than for mass distribution via Internet which would, indeed, enjoy size reduction of thousands of images, any one of which might be arbitrarily chosen to post on a forum. I don't derive income from reduced files which I post on any forum for casual observation by potentially large viewing groups. Rather, income results from destination clients, though considerable revenue is the result of flat-out door to door sales as was the image at the top of this thread. It is a 3:1 Aspect Ratio crop from the full image from which I'm awaiting, for another client, a 40" x 60" metallic print.
Some of the folks from far away who grace these parts for as little as a few weeks during every summer, seem to appreciate a new perspective of their properties(or their rented facility). One fellow from Alexandria, Virginia purchased an 8 x 12 canvas. He said, "Come back next week. My wife will be here for a few days, then back to Virginia before coming back here for another weekend. If you have more pieces, bring them. She loves Maine and may become your best friend." "They" bought two other larger pieces and are considering something for "So and So's office in Los Angeles, and we should get a piece for my brother in Phoenix." Their next-door neighbor said, "I'll only be here for a few days. Can you ship it (16" x 24") to Guilderland, New York?" It'll go out in a couple days. They didn't find me on the Internet, rather on my feet with my 17" laptop and iPad2 with large files to display on a door-knocking venture. Being a "people person," it seems to be working well for me(but summers are too short).

Hi, Bill; Mackerel Cove - Bailey Island, viewed from the west. I have it from both sides. You've been there and need to do it again.
Now, back to post processing of more island photos. Three flights so far - about 55 photographed; about 145 more to go, right up to the Canadian border.

The photo is in the Boothbay Region. My client was the passenger in the right seat, directing which islands to shoot next. Her parents' house is the gray house; they are in the rowboat. This is a cropped portion(7.43 MB) of the original image(32.9 MB). The client said they were waving; that her young son, for the rest of the day, was saying, "Mommy - plane, Mommy - plane.)

EDIT: I don't know where the icon came from, instead of the B in MB.
