So I'm looking at tearing apart the nose gear on my plane (1979 Beech Sundowner) and rebuilding to fix a moderate shimmy on landing. While I've got it apart, I figure the big magnesium castings are overdue to be stripped and repainted. I don't really have the facilities to clean and prep, let alone paint some big 'ole magnesium parts. So I'm in search of a reputable paint shop in central FL that can handle it.

Any recommendations?

I’ve heard Bartow and Okeechobee shops mentioned on this board, but I have no firsthand knowledge. Problem is they’re backed up these days, they may not want to squeeze in a small job.

My hangar neighbor just had his Mooney painted there. He's very pleased as well. Ask for Joe if you decide to call down there.

When I called and emailed them I got no response. Maybe they’re not as busy now, but then the word was they had a 10 month waiting list.

Nice pic. Cool background.
