Sitting here at KCKV waiting on buyer to pick up my Cherokee I just sold. Looked up after 15 minutes to see the Staggerwing hanging from the ceiling.
This iPhone pic is not nearly as spectacular as what I saw with my own eyes. It was huge and really incredible!
Over Iowa on the way back to Minnesota after spending the week in Texas. High winds with light snow left interesting streaks across the ground.
not much of a pic but I got to play hooky today on the anniversary of passing my PPL checkride and grabbed a tasty burger over at HKY
Leaving the muck behind at RDU heading for N. Myrtle [CRE] Arriving in the Myrtle Beach Area Sunset Flight back to RDU... Nothing like getting a little help from the tailwind heading back @ %65 power.
Took my 4 year old and 1 year old on their first flight today in a local rental. We’re in the process of shopping for a plane and figured it was time to see how the kiddos liked it. My son was more interested in his apple sauce.
Ok - it‘s time to post some pictures from our most recent trip. Getting close to Augusta (KDNL) Sunset over South Georgia Northern Florida Flying along the Indian River and getting close to Vero Beach (KVRB)
went to The Pig today and although I don't have a pic, here's one of a big fat pig which is how I felt when I left the place also apparently it was "I have no clue how to park" day as several people thought it was a good idea to block the taxiway even though there was plenty of parking further down where it opens up. ugh, rookies.
I had the brisket there the other day. I must say it was very good along with a very "nice" waitress that served us. I did double park but did so to be near a group of Birddogs that came in. Very nice planes [ I want a Birddog ] . Interesting thing was the dining area was packed, that is,no social distancing going there. Very, very, good BBQ.
Where did you stay? We flew into the Cape Santa Maria airstrip at the north end of Long Island (now closed, unfortunately) and stayed at Cape Santa Maria several years ago. It was fantastic.
Earlier in the week, took the littlest one for her first little airplane ride. Went to the cafe at KUIN; it was very good. Needed to make sure she'd be ok before we take off for TX. She did fine, and even slept through my landings. Shot approaches on both ends, got 5 this month now, so it looks like currency won't be a problem. Finally starting to feel proficient in this airplane.
We stayed in Salt Pond at C Shells Guest Quarters. It‘s more or less in the middle of Long Island and is super nice. We had C Shells all for ourselves during our March vacation as well as now... this means: I did not have to share the hammock...
Flew safety pilot for @Bill this afternoon and then did some solo flight in the Archer afterwards. A nice day filled with flying!
