How do I request this? Ask tower for low approach or is this asking for the option? ... Remember low time student...

I wouldn't recommend doing it the first time on your own. Work with your instructor.

At a towered airport just ask for the option, or find a nearby untowered airport.

I haven't soloed yet so every flight is with my instructor. I just like going to the airport prepared. The airplane is a terrible classroom so I save these questions for the ground.
