Wow, Harrison Ford. Hope he makes it ok. This story is about to get a ****load more attention from the media.
Sad, but true.If Santa Monica had only shortened the runway years ago this airplane would not have taken off from there and Harrison would not have been injured. . .
yes - thats how they think.

The plane looks nearly intact and like he did a good job getting down into what was probably a tight 300-400 yard space on a golf course.
Don't know what the obstacles are or what the terrain of the fairway is but, On a relatively cool day, 300-400 yards is not "tight" for a plane that has a 500' ground roll. My straight tail 182 has a longer ground roll than the PT-22 and I regularly go into a 1000' field that's obstructed on one end.
Granted, not on a 90 degree day but still..

From the last line in the article:
"72-year-old Ford is a longtime aviator -- piloting planes and helicopters -- and has crashed multiple times in the past." [emphasis added]
I wonder why he's had so many crashes?
How do you stand living there?
See the thread about the weather and the LGA deal.
Raiders of the Lost Thrust...soon coming to a golf course near you.
