Cost to get CFI

If that happens - it has to be paid for by taxes. To keep it fair, the tax you pay should be proportional. His tax bill would be $300k plus $20k for admin fees. Everybody wins!

I kept a log of my expenditures. When I got my CFII in 2000, I had a total of about 500 hours, and a total cost at that time was about $25k. This is when a 172 was $46/hr wet.
In that same era I was paying $75/hr wet for a Johnson bar 172.

This guy probably thinks his "student debt" should be forgiven/paid for by the rest of us.
I didn’t get that vibe from him at all. He was stressed out and eager to start flying the line for the $$ but he never made me think he wanted a bailout. Although I’m sure if you offered he would let you help.
