I've asked a couple of questions previously in this forum for a research paper. If you answered them, there's absolutely no reason you have to answer this survey. I got what I needed from you. However, it would help me out tremendously if you were to answer this survey, had you not answered my questions initially: https://forms.gle/wmmzRqcmsMZCC8eC8
I am not a "fed", and all responses will be recorded anonymously. No names will be displayed for my final research paper. Thank you! Feel free to ask any questions you have, and let me know about any issues.

So you've posted a few times in this forum requesting information. It's not clear to me whether this is a high-school project or college level.

If the former, it is important that you understand that it is customary for researchers to disclose information to survey takers. Your teacher should have told you this.

Specifically, you need to disclose:
- Who is doing the research and why (i.e. what institution are you affiliated with and what is the purpose of the survey? What question are you answering?)
- What level of confidentiality exists and how the data will be used and stored/destroyed.
- That participation is voluntary, and any risks or benefits to performing the survey.
- Estimated time to complete.
- Whether there is any intent to publish or display the research results/paper in any way.

If this is a college-level research paper, then you need to discuss with your professor as to whether your survey is considered Human Subject Research and requires Institutional Review Board clearance (usually easy and fast for surveys, but it ensures your ducks are in a row).

Finally, you consistently frame this as research on commercial pilots. As others have said, this forum is primarily composed of recreational pilots, so your research (once properly framed and disclosed) may do better on the forums specifically for airline and charter pilots.

Not trying to be mean or obstructive. There's a right way to go about doing this stuff, and this isn't it.

Google forms suck.
1. Yours doesn't work.
2. They aren't "anonymous."
No way I'm sending my identity information to some random guy on the internet.

Hey there, most of this is disclosed in the survey description(the area under the survey title). I didn't think that the post needed to disclose that as well. I have all the approval to conduct this(my ducks are in a row), as for the question on commercial pilots, the recreational pilots are still within the scope of my study. I appreciate your feedback, and I don't think this was mean. You are right to express your concerns about this.

For anonymity, I don't collect any email addresses or other information. I will need your legal name for consent to participation. As for it not working, I would love any information on what's wrong with the form. If you don't want to send "identity information to some random guy on the internet", you are well within your rights to do so, and welcome to not do the study.

Copy and pasted from survey description:
"This research study is a paper looking at cockpit design and ergonomics. In this survey, the participant will be asked to give general info about being a pilot as well as any feelings of discomfort and changes they would make to the cockpit.

It will take around 15 minutes to do. No identifiers will be kept or recorded.

Withdrawal from this study can be done at any time, without penalty. Your participation is entirely voluntary.
The results of this study will be used in a final research paper; the data will only be statistically analyzed."

Since you poorly explained the 'scope' of the study, I guess that's possible. What is your experience with aviation? Zero? Glider pilot? Private pilot?

You are collecting email addresses. The google form transmitted mine to you when I tried to access the form. I'm not playing your game.

That's not accurate. If you're logged in to Google, then Google knows you've accessed the form. The author only gets your email address when you submit the form. If he's getting your verified Google address, you'll be notified right up front, but he still only gets it if you submit the form.

It would be if he selected that mode and he didn't have the the form set in restricted mode. Now anybody who requests access sends their email to him so he can approve them.
Again, google forms suck badly for both the surveyor and surveyee. They're inherently insecure and problematic.

You have more personal information readily available on your profile here and on the website linked in your profile than they could get from just an e-mail address :dunno:

Obviously if you request access you're telling him who is requesting access. That's not the form sending him your email address; it's you sending it to him.

Hi, I just realized why there were issues with the access. 100% my fault, I had it on restricted access. Here is the official, new revamped link that should put your fears of email collecting to rest: https://forms.gle/hBNQo16uCRvHxDQ86
Again, I am not collecting email addresses in any way. It was just in restricted access.

Nope, I didn't get your email address; it was not transmitted. I understand why some of you are skeptical, but I promise there is no big plot here. I am genuinely just trying to finish my paper.

You guys are skeptical, and I don't blame you. You are well within your rights to refuse the study. As for everyone interested, I recommend that you use the second link. I have no clue if the first one also works with the updates. Thank you, everyone!
