Com. Spec. TR-720 battery (CS15) replacement

Communications Specialists had a neat little 720 channel handheld back in the 1990s that used a 9.6 volt nicad battery pack. I just found mine that has been dormant for at least 20 years and of course the nicads have gone to the happy nicad place in the sky. I'd like to rebat these packs with lithium or something other than nicad, but cutting open battery cases and sealing them back with JB Weld isn't in my skill set.

Anybody have a favorite small battery rebuild place that they like?

I haven't had batteries rebuilt for a long time. I've found they last a lot longer and hold a better charge if I just buy new.

Around here (Central Florida) the Interstate Battery store will do that kind of work (at least for battery powered tools). It does involve cutting open a pack and rebuilding it. Might be worth a try...
