CJ overrun into house in Kentucky 9/18

I think he forgot to put the hook down. Yeah, that's what happened.

ADS-B tracking shows him over 200 knots on short final. Seems a little excessive.

Note to self: Don’t buy a house directly in line with a runway.

The desk clerk said he saw it all real clear
He never hit the TR’s and he was powering up.
That has the paddle "attenuators" rather than a T/R system. Maybe he was trying to go around rather than accept the consequences.
I think that the VREF is in the low 100's depending on landing weight. So half as fast.

Paddle attenuators? What are those..

The house is about 750’ beyond the departure end of a 5000’ runway. Last ads-b ping had N577RT at 213 GS on a 1.5nm final, decelerating at an average of 1.5 knots/sec over the last several pings.

It was hot at M25 with light and variable winds:

KM25 182035Z AUTO 22003KT 10SM CLR 34/12 A2996 RMK AO2 T03420121

That equates to a density altitude of over 2700’, which increases TAS by about 4% over CAS at the surface.

They were these little black deflectors early CJ models had. They weren't true thrust reversers, just a diverter that helped kill idle thrust by directing it to the side. Later CJs had improved FADEC that allowed lower idle, eliminating the need for the attenuators. None of the CJ models ever had a true reverser.

The accident aircraft didn't have either.
