A little bird is chirping inside my mind, fly your airplane to Europe, fly to Iceland, make 2025 another journey to remember (previous was our Alaska trip). The thought to realize a flight to EU is exciting and maybe it is something we can do this summer, or maybe another summer, but the idea is formulating.

Got any tips, suggestions, which airports are going to kill the wallet, any cash only items along the way? I have been following another pilot who is flying solo around the world and he is doing it with a 100LL C172 which I originally thought would be an issue finding 100LL out of the states but sounds readily available.

I want to do that one day. All it takes is time and money.

I've done that flight indeed, and would be very happy to talk through it. PM me if you like and we can have a call - also check out the "Adventure Flying Guide" linked at the top of my website (see previous post from @bflynn)

Was done all the time in the 80s usually with only LORAN and most flights (IIRC) we're E/ABs Search Kitplanes back issues 80s and 90s I
and you will find quite a few write-ups

I diverted into Iceland last month, albeit on a bigger airplane so can't offer much suggestions other than the Drunk Rabbit Irish pub down town....oh, bring lots of money as it's super expensive and everything is taxed big.... curious to hear what landing fees and avgas cost....
