Final Approach
I've been involved with several STC efforts on transport category stuff over the last 5 years and what I find the most interesting about these new efforts on our little airplanes is the structural aspects. How exactly will this STC be written? Will they actually cover the structural aspects with make model specific drawings detailing how to fabricate servo brackets, install brackets, fabricate pushrods, cables, chains or whatever method to interface the servos to the flight controls?
Nothing seems quick about this. Also seems semi-difficult to add more makes/models down the road too.
This could be an opportunity to get engineer/AP IA owners involved in type specific clubs and assist getting their favorite airplanes added to the STC. One that comes to mind is the Cardinal Flyers Org. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
