Any CFI's on Basic Med?
What limitations do you have (aside from those imposed by Basic Med)
Will flight schools hire a CFI on basic Med?

I have a 2nd class medical with special issuance. Given the hoops I have to jump through at renewal, I am thinking about going Basic med but would like to continue instructing. Wondering what other CFI's may already be doing this and their experiences with Basic Med.

Yes. I've been BasicMed since 2018. And know plenty of others.

Aside from BasicMed? I wear glasses. Including BasicMed? Exactly zero.

I'm not aware of any that won't unless they have a need for the CFIs to exercise commercial pilot (non-instructional) privileges in additon to their CFI duties.

You don’t need a Class II, a Class III works for CFI. Considering most flight schools are really short on CFIs these days they accept basic med pretty much no questions asked.

You don't need any medical for CFI unless you have to be either the pilot in command (when the instructee is not eligible to) or a required crewmember (notably safety pilot for hood work).

There was an issue with safety pliots but as Dr. Bruce points out, they fixed that when they added the rule for medicals for commercial balloon ops.
