Cessna/Beech Owner Advisory SEL-74-06 Slick Mags

Just received this in the mail yesterday. Would you mechanically gifted individuals mind explaining what labor and parts will run for this. It doesnt look like a AD but they indicate Mandatory. Seems to effect pretty much every Piston aircraft Cessna or Beechcraft has made since the 50's or 60's and on.

Interesting. I was just looking to post a question on replacing 1 magneto with an electronic solid state magneto and then replace the other with a new as opposed to both old style magnetos.

A very wide range of planes are affected, but the serial # range of the specific mags seems narrow. Only Slick mags made between Jan 2016 to May 2018 are impacted for my 6310 model. Both mags start with 0707 or July 2007 manufacturer outside the date range.

FYI: OEM "mandatory" bulletins are not mandatory to Part 91 aircraft and others in some cases. If you want to see if this item is on the menu for an AD, search the AD NPRM on the FAA site.

It's written that way because any of those airplanes could have had one of the defective mags installed recently. The mag serial number is the important thing.
