Can I earn my CFI with Basic Med and then teach my kids to fly?

You can instruct without any medical if the person receiving instruction can act as PIC. Other than that, you can give instruction in an aircraft that you are qualified to act as PIC. For example, if you have a CFI and are flying as a Sport Pilot, you can give flight instruction towards a Sport, Private, Commercial, etc., as long as it is in a Light Sport Airplane.

Sure, you can do all that, but the opportunities for all that a quite narrow.

Yea, I'm still sort of convinced. I THINK I can take the checkride with BasicMed & and tech (CFI) with BasicMed. I'm in that 85-90% range, but I'm doubting myself a bit on it. I keep waiting for someone to come in with a zinger & shoot it down.

You can take a check ride for your Commercial with Basic Med, but you can't act as / get paid as a Commercial Pilot.
You can take a check ride for your CFI and CFII. You can teach and get paid while under Basic Med.

Heck, you can take a check ride for your PPL with Basic Med.
