"Snow showers" typically result in 3 - 5 inches of snow where I live. Just enough to make breaking out the snow blower worth it. "Snow" usually means something between 5 - 12 inches. "Heavy snow" usually means over a foot.

I don't mind the snow at all since I got a snow blower. I rather enjoy it, in fact. There's something decidedly Zen about it. I make sure that there are nice radii at the end of the driveway to create a welcoming effect when people drive up. It's a form of expression.

Ive actually had several guests, the UPS driver, and the two Mormon kids who are trying to save my soul comment on how pretty my snow removal is. They probably think that I'm afflicted with serious OCD but are too nice to say that -- especially the Mormon kids. I think niceness is part of Mormon doctrine.

Snow blowing at night is especially enjoyable, especially on dark nights with no moonlight. The headlights only penetrate so far, so there's an illusion of vastness. It also adds a bit of challenge to getting the radii at the end of the driveway right because it's hard to read the lines on the ruler.

I understand completely.....;)

I just got done with three weeks of windchill from the -30 to -50 range and temps from -25 to 0.

I'm in sunny southern California, it's been more than 48 hours, and my nut sack is still frozen.

just think, you can travel from flower to flower with no fear of fertilization...

I was in Maine and Boston last weekend. JetBlue canceled flights on Sunday and Monday so I got an extra day in Boston before escaping. Daughter's house got 26" on snow from Sunday to Tuesday morning. (Hough's Neck, Quincy)

Just saw the evening forecast that they are getting another blizzard this weekend, 12-18" of snow and 50+ mph winds and minus cold temps.

Feeling a little guilty as temps hit 80 this weekend in Las Vegas.

It's been low 80's here in Tucson where I am halfway through a three week business trip. I get to go to Boston in a few weeks, though.

Just saw the east coast temps. Not happy about coming back there today!

Great skiing weather. Too bad the warmer climates can't enjoy that.

Brrr is right, I had to get up at 04:00 to head to Miami, it was in the low 50s, FMD.

The "Coldest City in the Lower 48" hasn't been the coldest lately (Grand Forks, ND). We've had a very mild winter. Theres only 3-4 inches of snow on the ground and we haven't had too many days without breaking zero.

Just took the boat to the shop. Temp was 44 going to get into the high 50s ,gotta love Fla winters. Going flying sat. Temps in the 60s. Missing the snow, wind and cold of Mass .

About 14 above out now, a little breezy though. It's about 75 inside with the wood stove cranked up.

60 here now, got the smoker going - ribs this afternoon, starting on beer now to keep everything in balance

I feel for y'all. Really I do.

In between reading what a liberal shizhole California is and what fools we are for staying here.... 86 today, a record high for this time of year. I got to break out the flip flops finally. Oh, no, they've been right there by the door all winter. :D

Rest of the week looks normal at least. 86 is annoyingly hot. Stupid santa ana winds. At least it's still humidity-free.

Carry on with your zen.

California...:rofl::rofl: We're having record lows, it's in the 50s tonight. Most of the times its in the 70s-80s at night. I lived a decade all up and down the CA coast, I think there was a hand full of times I didn't need a sweater or sweatshirt at night.

It's already -23C out at the airport (either 9 or 10 below F). At some point it's supposed to cloud up and snow. If it stays clear, this will probably be the coldest night of the season (so far anyway).

I guess that's what's supposed to hit here tomorrow, they're calling for tomorrow night to be the coldest of the year and to get down in the 40s.

Lucky! We've been completely average this year in terms of snowfall. I miss the 100" year we had 4 or 5 years ago.

Damn, I might have to break out a sweatshirt! ;)

Went hiking today. In Colorado. Had to take off my jacket. It must have been in the 60s.

Air conditioners are humming away down here on Mustang Island... :)
